PSA & Deped major, major problem
Ithought the terrible passport application situation at Dept. of Foreign Affairs was bad enough.
But the Philippine Statistics Authority Region XI (formerly named National Statistics Office) is by far the WORST! What’s contributing to the problem is the DepEd Region XI Office’s requirement to get new PSA’s birth certificate. The old NSO forms won’t do according to the school registrar -- even though the INFO is the SAME! Talk about bureaucratic bullshit.
So I hope @ROSENDO AY-AY (“Kalisud”) of PSA and Atty. @ALBERTO ESCOBARTE of Dep. Ed. SR HS can read this -- and ACT on it.
We tried to enroll our 2 kids -- 1 a new transfer the other a returning student. The registrar asked for the new PSA forms. What for?!
So we went to the PSA Office on Cabaguio at 11:30 PM and we got priority number 500 for the next day. Since they only issue 1000 priority numbers, the secu told us that by 3 AM, the numbers would be gone. The sorry state is that people from as far as Surigao come here just to be denied a number. There were 3 out-of-town women who asked the secu if they could sleep there -- but were denied!
On our appointment date, it took us 3+ hours to get the PSA certificates. TERRIBLE! The PSA issue was recently aired by the local TV Patrol. It is WORSE if you actually experience it, even worse if you’re from out-of-town.
