Teachers called on to take part in World Teacher Survey

-

CAMBRIDGE University Press – the publishing business of the University of Cambridge, England – is calling for teachers across Philippines to take part in its World Teacher Survey. With an increasing number of challenges facing the education sector on a global scale, the survey aims to discover teachers’ needs to better understand how they can be effectively supported.

The survey, which is open to teachers across all educational levels until the end of June 2018, has already gathered opinions and feedback from over 10,000 educators, and Cambridge University Press hopes that teachers from Philippines will also take part in its largest ever, global research project.

The survey asks teachers for their views on various different topics including: what makes teachers happy; the reasons why they chose a career in teaching; the general demands they face; the social standing of teachers versus other professions; and what organisations including publishers can be doing to better support them.

Jose Antonio, Market Research Director at Cambridge University Press, commented: “The world is changing, and the education sector is changing with it. This transformation is creating both opportunities and challenges, from increasing workload pressures to the complexity of supporting diverse learner needs. Our World Teacher Survey is about understanding what it is really like to be a teacher today.

“We want to impact education on a global scale and therefore we’re gathering feedback from around the world.”

The survey results will be analysed over July and August, and a findings report is expected to be launched in October.
