Davao Region graduates dominate teachers board
TWENTY four Education graduates from Davao region landed in the top 10 of the latest Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), both in elementary and secondary level, administered last March 25, based on the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) yesterday, May 23.
Of this number, 15 graduates are from the University of Southeastern Philippines (Usep), both from Davao and Tagum
City; seven from the University of Mindanao (Davao, Tagum and Peñaplata); one graduate from Holy Cross of Davao, and one from Cor Jesu College (Holy Cross Of Digos).
In the LET Elementary Level, Diane Opeña Barbarona of Usep-Tagum placed fourth with a passing rate of 87.8%; Abigail Ortega Diamante of Usep-Tagum and Honelyn Batislaong Dolores from UM-Tagum placed fifth 87.6%; Noel Villacomba Bernadas of UM-Tagum placed sixth with 87.4%; on the seventh place is Shereyl Coto Samocino from Holy Cross Of Davao College with a passing rate of 87.2%; Loren Priagula Sangco from Usep-Tagum and Jane Gammad Yu from UsepDavao City placed eight with 87%; Lady Mae Calvo Genosas from Usep-Tagum placed ninth with 86.80%; and Sheila Marie Sumatra Casas of Usep-Tagum and Jessa Estrera Yaun of UMPeñaplata placed tenth with 86.60%.
For the LET Secondary Level, Jireh John Baquiran Arebe of the Usep-Tagum placed third with 92% passing rate; on the fourth place is Kim Torrenueva Dodongan from Usep-Tagum with 91.80%; Rendie Crausos Bedolido from Usep-Tagum placed fifth with 91.60%; on the sixth place with 91.40% are Ian Val Felicilda Cabel from UMDavao City and Medelyn Butron Pepito from Usep-Tagum; on the seventh spot with 91.20% are Cleford Jay Dayon Bacan from Cor Jesu College (Holy Cross of Digos) and Vincent Molos Rafols from Usep-Tagum; sharing the eight spot with 91% are Joan Caman Casas from UM-Tagum and Shalimar Pedroso Dolar and Juvielle Icoy Valdez, both from Usep-Tagum; and Ivy Baco Balaquinto from Usep-Davao City, Jimvelle Concon Faustor from Usep-Tagum, and Jeric Lumba Telen and Raymart Villareal from UM-Davao City are on the tenth place with 90.60%.
There were a total of 13,774 or 23.62% of the 58,323 examinees passed the PRC-administered licensure exams for the elementary level while 22,936 or 29.91% of 76,673 examinees passed the LET for the secondary level.
Topping the LET Elementary is John Michael Tagayon Dela Paz of the University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman with a passing rate of 88.8%.
Kier Araula Baugbog of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela topped the LET Secondary Level with 92.4%.
