PhilHealth holds orientation, ID distribution to DSWD
COMPOSTELLA Valley – As part of its continuous efforts to educate the public on the value of social health insurance, PhilHealth 11 through its Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) in Nabunturan recently conducted an Orientation and Distribution of MDRs and PhilHealth ID cards with DSWD field implementers.
The activity was attended by fifteen focal persons from 65 Municipal Links in ComVal.
It aims to organize the mass distribution of Member Data Records (MDRs) and
PhilHealth ID cards to indigent members identified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in the area.
Under the indigent program of PhilHealth, poor families who are identified by DSWD under the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) are given health insurance coverage with a one-year validity.
Renewal follows every year when the member has passed the assessment done by DSWD to determine a family’s financial capacity.
Indigent members may avail of a wide array of PhilHealth benefits, including coverage of simple illnesses under its All Case Rate (ACR) program up to benefits for complicated conditions, in both government and private hospitals. They are also covered under the Primary Care Benefit (PCB) program that covers preventive services such as free check-up, consultation, diagnostic tests and even medicines for certain illnesses.
