THE American Legion "Battle of Davao" Post 66 will hold its Second Annual Memorial Day Celebration at the Historic Filipino and American Veterans Masonic Memorial Park, Pichon Street, Madapo Hills on May 28, 2018.

Rand Bentson, 2nd Vice Commander of American Legion 66 during the AFP-PNP Press Conference on May 23, 2018 at The Royal Mandaya Hotel Davao said they expect over 50 individuals to attend the event.

Some of the expected participants will be coming from the local government unit of Davao City, the Mason community, and the entire leadership of American Legion.

The Memorial Day celebration will be co-presented with the Association of Descendants of American and Filipino Veterans and Masons (ADAFVM).

The celebration is being held to honor the United States Armed Forces who died and sacrificed their lives during World War II.

"It's Memorial Day Celebration. In America it's an honor to those who have given their lives and sacrificed for their country. And this is special because it's representing the partnership between American-Filipino fighters in World War II here in Davao City," Bentson said.

In the past two years, Post 66 has conducted volunteer work parties, fund-raising activities, and member donations for the rehabilitation of the grounds and chapels of the American Veterans Masonic Memorial Park.
