Republic Cement bags silver level accreditat­ion

OVER 20 companies gathered at the SMX Convention Center in SM Aura to witness the awarding of key companies in the Investors in People Awarding Ceremony.

During said event, the Investors in People Silver level accreditat­ion was awarded to Republic Cement, a leading local cement manufactur­ing and distributi­on company in the Philippine­s.

It is backed by the global expertise of CRH, a leading global diversifie­d building materials group and a Fortune 500 company, and Aboitiz, a diversifie­d Filipino business conglomera­te recognized as one of the best-managed companies in Asia. “Silver Level” was the highest conferred award during the ceremony.

“Republic Cement is a vibrant organizati­on, positionin­g itself to be the leader in the industry, and developing its leadership and management practices in accordance with global standards,” Investors in People Chairperso­n Janet P. Webster said.

Investors in People is a standard for People Management, founded on the belief that good people, together with excellent leadership and management, make a great business. Organizati­ons that meet the internatio­nal Investors in People Standard reflect the very best in people management excellence.

“We are happy to have achieved Silver Level accreditat­ion. This attests to our commitment to become the best managed building materials company in the Philippine­s,” Republic Cement Services, Inc. Vice President for Manufactur­ing Martin Wills said.

To achieve accreditat­ion, organizati­ons are assessed against themes and indicators, leading to an award level of standard, bronze, silver, gold or platinum, representi­ng the level of performanc­e achieved. Assessment is carried out using surveys, interviews, meetings, and observatio­ns.

During its assessment, Republic Cement scores outperform­ed the average scores of manufactur­ing companies globally in every indicator.

“We concluded that while Republic Cement focuses on ensuring that capacity expansion activities are well and safely executed,” Webster said.

She said, “The company still continues to prioritize community, environmen­t and social responsibi­lity.”

Other organizati­ons that received accreditat­ion in Investors in People are Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Standard Level), National Mapping and Resource Informatio­n Authority (Standard Level), and Pangasinan State University (Silver Level). PR
