-

RESPECTIVE city offices tasked to inspect illegal resorts located in Marilog District last week is now plotting areas to make a map out of their find.

City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) office-in-charge Generose Tecson told Sun.Star yesterday that they are just waiting for the map to be produced by City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) with the geotagging to make the next move.

"Nag site survey na kami with geotagging to determine where the resorts are located," she said in a text message yesterday.

Tecson said as soon as the map is done she will call a meeting with the city heads concerned.

"We’ll meet as soon as may map to discuss paano matulungan yun nasa Tourism Development Zone to legalize their options," she said.

Last week, City Administrator Zuleika Lopez last May 21 issued a memorandum to CPDO, Barangay Cultural Communities and Affairs Division (BCCAD), City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro), Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), City Treasurer's Office (CTO), City Engineer's Office (CEO), City Assesor's Office (CAO) to inspect all the tourism and business establishments in Marilog District and check their compliance to the cities ordinances.

This move for an inspection in the area initially came from a resolution made by Davao City councilor Al Ryan Alejandre, prompted by his observation that only two establishments in Marilog were able to get permits.

Alejandre also cited that some business owners were able to build establishments in danger zones.
