BUILDING BRIDGES towards a better nation
WITH the Duterte administration bullish on its Build, Build, Build program, more infrastructure developments that come in the form of new buildings, bridges, and road-widening are starting to kick off nationwide. It is but a sign of a good economic development of the country. For construction workers and companies, this is such great news as well.
Just last week, President Rodrigo Duterte himself was present during the inauguration of the C.P. Garcia St. along Diversion Road a project by the Department of Public Works and Highways together with partner contractors here in Davao City.
The second phase of the project was awarded to Bislig Venture Construction and Development Inc. (BVCDI), a construction firm located at Trinidad Greenhills, Ma-a, Davao City February of year 2017.
According to BVCDI President and CEO Engr. Jed Falcon, they faced a lot of challenges when doing the project, however they are very glad and proud to have completed it on time.
The project was awarded to BVCDI on February 2017. One of the first challenges they were faced with was the debris they needed to remove during the construction period.
The intense rain that caused flooding for three separate occasions made the project even more challenging for the at least 40 workers of BVCDI working for the project. The flood caused delay and submersion of their equipment. However, Falcon said they endured and continued on.
What they deemed to have really helped them hasten work is their affiliate company - the BVCDI Foundation and Girder Corporation. Having their own girder supplies made it more convenient and all the more easier for them. They wouldn’t need to order and wait for the supplies anymore.
BVCDI is a construction firm that specializes on bridge construction among others.
“I think the success of the company is on the team - we have competent technical personnel. We have also upgraded the quality of our staff,” said Falcon.
The success of the construction of the 2nd phase of the bridge was spearheaded by BVCDI vice president for Engineering Engr. Nestor T. Murillo together with AVP for Planning/External Affairs/Marketing Engr. Loila A. Camasura.
As more and more construction projects are being started in Mindanao, it is but a privilege and an honor for BVCDI to be able to deliver good quality of work and be part of a bridge project that President Duterte himself inaugurated.
