DIBL finals game Sunday at RMC Gym

-

The Davao Inter-BPO League (DIBL) championship game between VXI Global and Awesome OS will get going at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Event Center.

DIBL commissioner Mark De Guzman, who was among the guests in yesterday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at The Annex of SM City Davao, said the league is down to the two best teams from 14 entries.

At stake for the champion is P20,000 cash prize, a trophy and the 2018 DIBL title.

VXI Global guard Cyril Almeria, meanwhile, said the company is eyeing the elusive title that evaded them last year after a heartbreaking loss to two-time defending champion Teleperformance.

"This time, all VXI cites is united as one because we really wanted to get the championship title we've been chasing for the past three years," Almeria said, adding that they will bank on their prized guard Raphael Romeo Nayve who propelled the team with 21 points against Alorica, 60-46, in last Sunday's semifinals.

Awesome OS forward Mark Saavedra, for his part, said reaching the finals is already a celebration after three straight years of being eliminated in the semifinals.

"We will just rely on our system and each of our player's individual strength. We will just do whatever our coach would tell us," Saavedra said.

Alorica will collide with Flatworld Solutions in the battle for third of the event sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Davao.

The event is sponsored by Sweet Gracias Cafe, Borromeo Insurance Agency of Pru Life UK, Ramenikko Ramen Hause and Phenom Lifestyle Fitness Gym.
