Hold-up victims told to file complaints

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) is calling on other victims of the suspect who was arrested on Sunday evening, believed to be responsibl­e for the series of robberyhol­d up incidents, to file a formal complaint before the police unit.

DCPO director Police Senior Superinten­dent Alexander Tagum said yesterday there were no complainan­ts yet against the suspect. Thus, he encouraged those who have shared their stories of robbery incidents online to visit the police station to identify the suspect and file a blotter.

He added that a robbery case and violation of the Dangerous Drug Act has been filed yesterday morning against the robbery-hold up suspect identified as Rinnie Antonio Jimenez, 42, single, trisikad driver and a resident of Washington, Purok 10, Brgy 39-D, Davao City.

Based on the police report, Jimenez was arrested around 10 p.m. on Sunday by the personnel of Sta. Ana Police Station after the victim named John Neri Ingay Luayon, 19, single, a student and a resident of Block 72, Lot 19, Deca Homes

Subdivisio­n, Tigatto, Davao City sought police assistance. The victim said while he was standing along Jose P. Laurel Avenue corner Jacinto Street waiting for a PUJ, the suspect approached him and declared hold-up while pointing a kitchen knife on his waist then the suspect forcibly took the color Black Asus Cellphone worth P10,000 of the victim.

The suspect ran heading toward Jacinto Street and the victim tried to chase the suspect and shouted for help when the police noticed the incident. They were conducting covert surveillan­ce at the area during that time and helped in the arrest of the suspect.

Authoritie­s recovered from his possession the stolen item color Black Asus Cellphone, kitchen knife and two pieces elongated transparen­t plastic sachet containing suspected shabu concealed inside his pocket.

The suspect is under the custody of Sta. Ana Police Station.

Tagum has already issued a stern warning against criminals that they will hunt them down and will put them behind the bars.

They also reminded the public to report to nearest police stations of any incident and not on social media for them to take appropriat­e action. JCR
