R11's No. 2 drug suspect charged
A case was filed yesterday against Davao region’s Top 2 drug personality who was arrested by authorities in a buybust operation at Purok 1-B, Bacuring, Barangay Madaum, Tagum City, Davao del Norte over the weekend.
Nephi Noli Dimaandal, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea 11) spokesperson, said that a case for violation of Section 5 and Section
11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, has been filed against Juvy Ann Tangaro alias Yan-Yan, 38, resident of Purok Timog, Kawayan CoopB, Tagum City, Davao del Norte who was arrested last June 2.
She was detained at the Pdea 11 detention facility in Davao City and was transported to Tagum City yesterday for the filing of the case since she was arrested there.
Dimaandal said the suspect is considered a high value target as she was in the Pdea Regional Target List and Provincial Target List in Davao del Norte. She is also one of the big time and elusive drug perpetrators operating in Davao region.
The anti-drug operation was conducted by Pdea 11 agents together with the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of Police Regional Office (PRO 11), Davao del Norte Provincial Intelligence Branch, and Tagum City Police Station at around 11 a.m..
Tangaro was arrested for selling one medium pack weighing more or less five grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu worth P45,000 to the undercover operative.
The anti-drug enforcers also seized another one big pack of suspected shabu weighing about 25 grams with a street value of P375,000 and buybust marked money and boodle money from her possession.
Asked whether the suspect has surrendered before during the Oplan Tokhang, Dimaandal said that she did not heed their call.
