Ardot Parojinog's partner arrested

MANILA - Police arrested on Sunday, June 3, the live-in-partner of Ozamiz City Councilor Ricardo “Ardot” Parojinog, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Oscar Albayalde said Monday, June 4.

Mena Luansing, also known as Meme or Madame, had sought refuge in Belisario Compound in San Isidro, Parañaque City in Metro Manila.

She was arrested by a combined team from the Parañaque Police station, Directorat­e for IntelliEVE­N gence and the National Intelligen­ce Coordinati­ng Agency at around 7 a.m. Sunday.

Also arrested during the operation was Jonal Cablitas for allegedly coddling Luansing.

Luansing resigned as a member of the Misamis Occidental Provincial Board in January.

She has a standing warrant issued by Edmundo Pinlac of the Ozamiz City Regional Trial Court Branch 15 for drug-

The event is open for OFWS who are either members of the OFW Family Circles or those who have permanentl­y returned migrant workers in Davao region.

The celebratio­n is pursuant to Republic Act 8042, otherwise known as Magna Carta for OFWs, declaring every June 7 as the Migrant Worker’s Day which aims to give recognitio­n to the efforts of the OFWs in uplifting the national economy.

In a separate interview, Owwa 11 Labor Communicat­ion Officer Maricel T. Sarabillo said one of the highlights of the event is the awarding of certificat­es to new scholars and turn-over of livelihood assistance and other benefits to various program beneficiar­ies of Owwa.

She cited that this is the first time that they would conduct the event outside the city to also give others a chance to avail the programs lined up for the OFWS outside Davao City.

This will also serve as an opportunit­y to promote and sell the products produced by OFW Family Circles and OFW entreprene­urs who are venturing into business as there will be a trade fair area during the event.

Various government agencies like Philippine Overseas of Employment Administra­tion (POEA), Department of Social Welfare and Developmen­t (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Developmen­t Authority (Tesda), Philihealt­h, Pagibig, Social Security Sytem and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will also present their various programs and services.
