- By Adam B. Morrell

THE Amara Infinite Sports Foundation (AISF) will field 10 promising arnisadors in the upcoming Cacoy Doce Pares World Federation SGM Cacoy Cañete Filipino Martial Arts Festival Eskrima World Tour in Cebu City in August.

AISF board member Ely Gamboa bared this during an interview with Sun.Star Davao yesterday at the Sun. Star Davao office along Emilio Jacinto Street yesterday.

Gamboa said they are currently conducting a selection process to distinguish who will represent AISF in the tournament.

"Athletes who are currently training with us are gold medalists from the Amara Infinite Sports GSBA Summerfest Stick Fighting Championship Tournament that was held last May 26 at the Felcris Centrale Activity Area," Gamboa said.

He, however, said five of 10 players will be subsidized by the AISF including plane tickets, hotel accommodations and other expenses.

"Self-financed lang yung lima kasi afford naman nila para din mas mabigyan ng opportunity yung mga hindi kaya mag finance ng sarili nila," Gamboa said.

AISF aims to give locals the opportunity to compete in a high-level tournament.

"Our main objective is to truly promote the Filipino Martial Arts and preserve the combat culture and heritage of our heroes who pioneered this discipline," Gambo added.
