Sara's Hugpong party registration hearing

-

A HEARING was conducted on the petition for registration filed by Hugpong ng Pagbabago Party before the Commission on Elections, said Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio.

Duterte-Carpio told reporters during a brief presser prior to the groundbreaking of the new capitol building of Davao Occidental in Malita yesterday that no decision was released yet.

"We are on on the pro- cess of passing some documents," Duterte-Carpio, who is also a chair of HNP, said.

HNP was backed by four governors of Davao Region namely: Davao Occidental Governor Claude P. Bautista, Davao Oriental Governor Nelson Dayanghirang, Davao del Norte Governor Anthony Del Rosario as Secretary General, Compostela Valley Governor Tyron L. Uy.

During their first gen-

eral assembly last February 2018, officials of the HNP expressed their aim to make Davao region as HNP region.

In yesterday's interview, Duterte-Carpio said they do not have plans to make the party a nationwide party, since its nature is regional.

"We are willing to have alliances with other parties that will express interest," she said.

Duterte-Carpio underscored that she does not have plans to run for presidency or as a senator in the future.

She said her attendance in the new capitol's groundbreaking, and her attendance to many gatherings is not a form of a campaign but her way of giving thanks to the supporters of her father, President Rodrigo Duterte.
