Abreeza brings Pinkfong, Baby Shark to Davao

- JENNY MOLBOG-MENDOZA mendoza.jennygrace@gmail.com

The 2nd and 3rd days of June were truly exciting for a lot of children as Abreeza Mall brought to Davao two of today’s most popular nursery rhyme characters.

For every child who has been singing “Baby Shark”, the highly famous children’s song produced by the South Korean education brand Pinkfong, seeing the yellow shark and pink fox come to life was definitely an awesome experience. And my four-year-old daughter was one of those who were really looking forward to their live performance.

While the song was not a Pinkfong-original, it was the South Korean firm that popularized it. In fact, it has even become a dance craze, not just among children but also among adults from all over the world.

When the Ayala-owned mall announced that they were bringing the cast of the viral video here, I am pretty sure that I was not the only who got giddy about it. And I have somehow proven that when I saw the long queue of parents with their toddlers going inside the mall’s activity area to watch the show.

By the way, here are some tidbits about the Korean version of “Baby Shark”:

1. Multi-billion views. As of this writing, the Pinkfong-produced “Baby Shark” video already has 1.3 billion views on YouTube.

K-pop superstars love it, too! We all know that children, parents, teachers, and a lot more love the very infectious craze “Baby Shark”, right? But, apart from them, the world-famous Korean groups Girls’ Generation, Red Velvet, and Blank Pink undeniably love it as well. They even performed it at their concerts. “Baby Shark” for the monkeys? Of course, many of us know the lyrics of this viral nursery rhyme, especially when it comes to the chorus part. However, not all of us know that it has a different version. Called “Monkey Banana”, the song has the same tune with “Baby Shark”, but, instead of the lyrics “doo doo doo doo”, you can hear “ba na na na.” Thank you so much, Abreeza, for giving us a fun-filled weekend by bringing Baby Shark and Pinkfong here! ### If you have special events and fashion tips to share, or just want to discuss about any fashion-related concerns with me, you are always free to reach me at mendoza.jennygrace@ gmail.com.
