Schools warned vs fake Tesda staff
THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) warned the Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) anew against fake personalities using Tesda officials’ name to dupe others.
Tesda Compostela Valley specialist Mafel Joanne Gamale said yesterday that they have already received a memorandum coming from the central office to be cautious in dealing with unauthorized personalities who pretend to be officials of the agency to solicit money or pull a scam.
“Nakadawat mi ug memorandum gikan sa among secretary, Secretary Guiling Mamondiong nga giingnan nila nga ang tanang techvoc institutions nga dili basta-basta na lamang mutoo (Secretary Guiling Mamondiong issued a memorandum warning TVIs to be cautious when there are personalities claiming to be Tesda personnel),” he said.
Tesda is then calling on TVIs to coordinate with them when somebody who is visiting their institutions claims to be from Tesda.
Tesda officials or the technical audit teams would usually conduct inspections on the equipment and facilities of TVIs.
“There [is a] standard operating procedure now na whenever there are personalities, claiming to be Tesdans motext sila sa amoa (they will text us) just to make sure that these are legit personalities,” she said.
The TVIs should also ask for their identification cards before transacting with them.
She admitted that they were also duped in Davao City.
“We’ve been told to do some precautionary measures para dili dali maka-penetrate sa amoang agency labi na ang Tesda (so they could not easily penetrate the agency) which has been certified to be corrupt-free,” she added.
