Basta DavNor, Sikat! Talent showcase set
DEL NORTE – Some 28 hopefuls in Davao del Norte will give their best in showing extraordinary talents as they vie for the title of the first-ever Basta DavNor, Sikat! talent competition.
Provincial Administrator Samson Sanchez, who is the Executive Chair for the Facilitating Committee, said the competition aims to discover, develop and promote local talentd among the youth of the province, as well as to encourage them to live a life fueled by passion.
Among the highlights of the 51st Araw ng Davao del Norte, the contest’s semi-finals will be held during the nightly activities on June 24 and 25, with the chosen top 10 acts proceeding to slug it out in Grand Finals on June 30, 2018, at the Megatent of the weeklong Kadagayaan Festival 2018.
Contestants will wow the audience in a showcase of singing, dancing, acrobatics and even magic tricks.
The semifinalists are Marjan Mumar Baya, June Diola Mata and SNNHS Dance Art of Talaingod, Stop Motion Crew and Michael G. Pancho of New Corella, Ejay Capoy, Katribu Mindanao Dance, and Hyperkatz Junior of Kapalong, Intensity 9 of Asuncion, Shane Leslee Castillo and the Kadagaya Dance Company of Sto. Tomas, Daina Mosquera, Megan Leonerio, and Dujali Crew of Dujali. Jenno Semblante, Bananoy Magnate Allstars, and Marces Sisters of Panabo; Jeala Gohetia, Rodil Antonio Guinitaran, and Teatro Mugnanayaw of Carmen; Hershey Molero, Jeah Mae Delfin, and J3 Crew of San Isidro; U-D Psalmis, Power Duo, and The Redeem of Tagum; and Marvie Grace Bulay and D' Acrobatic Diva of Samal.
They were selected through an 11-day audition process that toured the 11 local government units of the province last April to May.
grand champion will receive P50,000 cash prize and trophy while the runner-up will claim P30,000 and trophy and the third placer will receive P20,000 and a trophy.
The official partners of the 51st Araw ng Davao del Norte celebration are Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Inc. (TADECO), Ulticon Builders, Inc. and MED 9.
