PRO11 investigates 'candy drugs' claim

-

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 is investigating the possible selling of “candy drugs” outside school premises in Davao City.

This is following the viral social media post indicating candy drugs called "strawberry quick" are being sold to students.

PRO 11 spokesperson Chief Inspector Milgrace Cajes Driz said they are intensifying the illegal drugs campaign to validate the veracity of these reports and stop it immediately, if there’s any.

"PRO-11 does not discount this information, or possibilities; we have to be pro-active in our efforts especially on the anti-illegal drug operations," Driz.

According to the social media posts, this new kind of drugs appears to be candy-like formed in various fruits and in different colors.

"It also smells like strawberry and it is being handed out to kids in school yards. They are calling it strawberry meth or strawberry quick. Kids are ingesting this thinking that it is candy and being rushed off to the hospital in dire condition. It also comes in chocolate, peanut butter, cola, cherry, grape and orange," read the social media post.

Driz emphasized that the public especially the parents should be conscious and remind their children to be aware of what they are eating.

"No need to panic but just be aware, this is just a reminder for all of us and let us treat this positively and pro-active- PRO11, 18
