SP to adopt Marikina’s paperless program

-

FOLLOWING the sisterhood agreement inked by the Davao City and Marikina City last week, Davao City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag said the latter is willing to share the software it is using for a paperless city council session.

During the Pulong Pulong ni Pulong yesterday at the Sangguniang Panglungsod, Al-ag said that staff from Marikina Sangguniang Panglungsod will arrive in the city this month to orient the City Council here on the software.

“They will share this software and share what they are doing. Even wala sa opisina ang konsehal, they can access the document so, we are excited about this naa nay cor-

respondents that we will also learn from the experience of Marikina Sangguniang Panglungsod,” the Vice Mayor said.

There has been a move in SP to go paperless, preventing the use of kilos of papers every session. Earlier, it was also reported that the Davao City councilors will receive P50,000 worth of laptops each for the proposed "paperless session", which is set to take effect this year.

Al-ag only cited copying of files and documents to the laptops is also taxing that is why they haven’t implemented it yet but with the software to be adopted from Marikina City, it would be much easier.

“Nag transition naman ta ang ako lang para paspas, we need the software. Ang isa man gud sa mga loophole nato karon wala tay program sa computer kung atoang mano-manohon dugay gihapon (We already started the transition [to going paperless]. One of the loopholes that we saw is that we do not have a program to be more efficient),” he said. JCR
