City worker, pal face drug charges

A GOVERNMENT employee and his pal are facing charges before the prosecutio­n office in Davao City, following their arrest in a drug-bust operation along Cabaguio Avenue in Agdao District on July 2, Monday.

The suspects were identified as Jayson Jocoy Bendoy, 35, a member of the civil security unit of the city, from Block 40 Country Homes in CaA bantian; and Razil Gabia Manlapaz, 29, from San Francisco Village in Agdao District.

According to Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency 11 (Pdea 11) regional director Antonio Rivera, the suspects were charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act.

In a report obtained

from Pdea 11, it showed that Bendoy and Manlapaz may face maximum penalties if found guilty.

Bendoy and Manlapaz were arrested inside a hotel along Cabaguio Avenue in Agdao at about 2 p.m. on July 2, Monday, after selling to a poseur buyer from Pdea.

The operation was conducted with the members of the Talomo Police Station. Seized were six plastic sachets of suspected shabu, drug parapherna­lia, and P1,000.

Bendoy and Manlapaz are currently detained at the Pdea 11 jail facility, while the seized suspected substance were sent to the Laboratory Service of the Pdea. Abigail Joyce C. Cahiwat, MSU-Marawi Intern
