Pdea 11 seizes P400-K drugs
NEARLY P400,000 worth of shabu and marijuana were recovered in five separate buy-bust operations last Tuesday, July 3, in Davao Occidental, Davao del Norte, and Davao Oriental.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11 (Pdea 11) assistant regional Director Atty. Behn Joseph Tesiorna said they already caught Davao Occidental’s Top 9 drug personality in a buy-bust operation conducted at Poblacion, Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental. The suspect was identified as Jestoni Guihapon Sabaane, 30 years old, unemployed and a resident of the place.
Tesiorna said Sabaane was arrested after being caught with 500 grams of suspected marijuana worth P3,000 and another smaller pack of suspected marijuana weighing more or less 10 grams.
Meanwhile, a certain Angelito Dela Victoria, 55 years old, was also caught in Barangay San Francisco, Panabo City, Davao del Sur for selling one medium-sized sachet of suspected shabu weighing more or less one gram worth P8,000. Another five sachets were also seized from his possessions weighing more or less 20 grams each and with an accumulated value of P300,000.
Shabu packs amounting to around P75,700 were also caught in possession of Christian Bakiao Trimidal, 25 years old, during the Pdea 11 operations in Lower Liberty, Barangay Central, Mati City, Davao Oriental.
One of the apprehended persons was a 23-yearold student identified as Joseph Galvan Manugas, a resident of Tubo-tubo, Monkayo, Compostela Valley. He was arrested after a buy bust operation at the National Highway, Tagum City, Davao del Norte. He was arrested after selling one pack suspected shabu weighing more or less one gram worth P10,000.
“The whole of Region 11 provincial offices are determined to conduct anti-illegal operations since we have just re-
ceived the new equipment from the national headquarters. This is one way of showing our gratitude and assuring our [Director General] DG Aaron Aquino that we’re doubling our efforts,” said Tesiorna adding that cases had been filed for these individuals and are currently detained at the Pdea 11 detention facility.
Aside from illegal drugs, a motored vehicle was also recovered during one of the operations.
