National Prisaa hosting prep on
PREPARATION has started for Davao City's hosting of the 2019 National Private School Athletic Association (Prisaa) Games, Prisaa 11 president Ma. Lita Montalban said yesterday.
She said during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao that they recently visited Sports Development Division-City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) chief Mikey Aportadera on the possible support that city government of Davao can extend.
"Sir Mikey gave us an assurance that he will arrange the meeting with Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio during our meeting at his office," she said.
Meanwhile, the national Prisaa and Prisaa 11 officers conducted an evaluation meeting last June 12 and 13 to assess the National Prisaa Games in Tagbilaran City, Bohol and discuss potential plans for the upcoming National Prisaa tentatively slated April 27 to May 3.
"I really tried to win the 2019 hosting bid in Tagbilaran because I pledged that before I retire as the Prisaa president, I will be able to bring the National Prisaa here," she shared.
She also said that majority of the events will be played at the University of Mindanao.
Montalban, however, said the Prisaa board hopes that the mayor and the Department of Education (DepEd) will give their support.
"We will wait for the mayor's signal if the National Prisaa will be staged ahead or after the Palarong Pambansa 2019. But it is much better to hold it ahead so that it will serve as a dry run for the bigger event," she said.
The National Prisaa board will meet in September to finalize the program.
"We will finalize the games and technicalities," Montalban added.
