12 BIFF killed

MANILA - At least 12 suspected members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) were killed on Sunday, July 8, during the continuous military operations in Shariff Saydona Mustapha in Maguindana­o, a military official said Tuesday, July 10.

Captain Arvin Encinas, spokespers­on of the 6th infantry division. said the 12 BIFF members were killed from air and artillery fires in Sitios Pandan, Mungkas and Bulod of Barangay Malingao in Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Maguindana­o.

Among the BIFF killed were: Baser Alon, Nurdin Kalun, Kemi Jainudin, Wahed Anuwar, Bensar Ali, Arapat Gemal, Bedo Gamadil, Wari Brahim, Bakar Seral and Tato Menta. Two others are still being identified.

Nine members of the terror group were wounded during the operations.

Joint Task Force Central Commander Brigadier General Cirilito Sobejana said the troops are continuous­ly gaining advantage over the BIFF bandits in the past seven days, particular­ly in the towns of Salibo, Pagatin (Datu Saudi), Mamasapano and Shariff Aguak.
