Dole 11 assists Davao-based Bora workers

MORE than two months after the closure of Boracay Island for rehabilita­tion, the Department of Labor and Employment 11 (Dole 11) has assisted a total of 32 Boracay Island workers in Davao Region under its Adjustment Measures Program.

The Boracay Emergency Employment Program – Adjustment Measures Program (Beep-AMP) is a Dole mitigation program for formal sector workers affected by the 6 months closure and rehabilita­tion of Boracay Island.

Under Beep-AMP, displaced workers will receive financial support equivalent to 50% of the minimum wage in Western Visayas amounting to P4,205.50 monthly for a maximum period of six months.

For workers retained, they will receive financial support equivalent to 25% of the minimum wage of Western Visayas or 2,102.75 for a period of three months and shall be deposited in lump sum to their accounts.

Other than the financial packages, there are also various assistance lodged under Beep which include the administra­tion of appropriat­e social preparatio­n, livelihood, and training programs, provision of grants and loans as preparatio­n for the reopening of the island.

For Davao Region, out of the 32 workers, 13 workers have already received their first tranche of financial support.

Affected Boracay employees may avail of the program through the Dole regional offices once they completer the following requiremen­ts: duly accomplish­ed Beep AMP Applicatio­n Form; Certificat­e of Employment; and any government-issued ID.
