Security Bank education project helps 279 scholars
In 2010, Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI), the corporate social responsibility arm of Security Bank Corporation, launched “Regalo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko: Employee Gift-Giving Project” (RMKK).
The project’s aim was to generate funds to support the education of Security Bank’s agency personnel and their children through the help of the Bank’s employees and clients.
Through the overwhelming kindness and generosity of over 200 individual and employee donors, along with the counterpart contribution from Security Bank Foundation, RMKK has been able to support a total of 279 scholars since its inception, 139 of whom have already graduated. Currently, the project supports 118 active scholars who are in elementary, high school and college/vocationaltechnical schools.
One of the beneficiaries of the project, Joshua Raul M. Manliguez, son of security guard Raul N. Manliguez who has been with Security Bank for more than 20 years, expressed his deep gratitude for the support extended to him by the Foundation.
In a handwritten letter, he said, “I would like to say thank you for providing financial assistance to me throughout these years. This scholarship gave me the opportunity to study in a prestigious school... The scholarship is the main reason why I am one step closer to my dreams and goals. I hope that this Foundation would never stop providing assistance to those people like me who are worthy to study in college so that they can reach their dreams and goals... Thank you and God bless.” Security Bank employees and clients are happy to know that their donations have helped brighten the future of the children of agency personnel who work in the Bank, even with just a minimum donation of P200 per year. They may also sponsor a child‘s education in elementary, high school or college by donating P4,000, P6,000 or P20,000, respectively. Donations to the project may be coursed through bank deposit or bills payment to SBFI’s account.
