-

AROUND 100 households from six puroks in Sitio Popo Barangay Inayangan, Calinan , Davao City now enjoy electricity service from Davao Light and Power Company.

This project is in partnership with the local government unit of the 3rd District of Davao City where Davao Light has installed four circuit-kilometers, free-of-charge, to extend service to said barangay.

Last June 10, 2018, a ceremonial switch-on was conducted at the Barangay Hall in Inayangan, Calinan District. The Davao Light team led by EVP and COO Rodger S. Velasco, Congressman Alberto Ungab and Barangay Captain Lilia D. Ruta together with the constituents of the said barangay were present to witness the activity. Meanwhile, through Davao Light’s Oplan ISAAC or In Site Application And Connection, 26 households were connected immediately after completing their new electricity connection application on site.

Davao Light’s Safety Department Supervisor Engr. Dado Gonzales and Senior Engineer Engr. Charlo Deniega also gave a safety orientation and energy conservation tips to minimize accidents like electrocution and save on costs.

This endeavor is part of Davao Light's aim to provide electricity to urbanized communities within its franchise that still don't have access to electricity. This is also a way to avoid illegal tapping of power which is prone to accidents such as fire.
