Task Force Samal trains for riverine ops

ISLAND Garden City of Samal – In a bid to boost the security in the island, a Riverine Operation Training was held on July 16 to July 20, 2018 for members of the Task Force Samal.

The training was conducted by the 11TH Special Forces Company (SFC) Riverine, 5th Special Forces Battalion (SFBN), Special Operation Command (Socom), and the Armed Forces of the Philippine­s (AFP) for 18 members of the task force at the Task Force Samal Head Quarters, Peñaplata, Island Garden City of Samal.

“At the end of the training members of the Task Force Samal are knowledgea­ble in the Riverine Operations. They will now have the capability to engage possible enemies approachin­g from the shoreline or sea. They will be also able to Kknow how to conduct search and rescue operations, loading and unloading, and scuba exercise,” said lieutenant colonel Reandrew Rubio, Task Force Samal commader, said.

“Kaugmaon ni sa Samal, preparayon basin ang dautan nga elemento muage sa dagat, sa una walay ingon ani na training karon aduna na. Alangan man ug hulaton pa nato nga adunay mga panghitabo nga dili maayo sa atong Isla, dapat mangandam nata. Karon kon adunay mga kakulian nga dili maayo sa atong kadagatan kining mi-gradwar ani nga training maoy ipadala (This is for the future of Samal to defend itself from enemies coming from the sea. Before we never had a training like this. We cannot wait for something bad to happen before we can prepare ourselves. We have to prepare ourselves and those who recieved the training will be our line of defense)” Florencio Thaddeus Valera, Public Employment Service Office executive assistant IV, said.
