REASONS WE Plains & Prints LOVE THE x Mark Bumgarner Collection
In both men and women fashion, it is always a prerequisite to look chic and put-up while maintaining comfort and convenience at the same time. The beauty of simplicity is always chosen over anything too much that may suggest overdressing.
The Plains & Prints brand started out humbly in 1994 and has since evolved to now as one of the leading fashion brands for women in the Philippines. Since 2008, Plains & Prints has been collaborating with different top fashion designers and style icons to provide simple yet elegant clothing for women perfect for work or even party.
Last Thursday, July 26, the Plains & Prints x Mark Bumgarner Collection was launched in Davao City at Chimes Boutique along Governor Sales Street. The man behind the collection, Mark Bumgarner himself was present during the launching. Models sashayed and showed off the dresses, tops, and pants from Bumgarner’s collection wowing the crowd.
Here are three reasons why we instantly fell in love with the Plains & Prints x Mark Bumgarner Collection and why you should get a piece or more from the collection as well.
1. Filipino Pride
The pieces are not just made and designed with the Filipino women in mind. Bumgarner said he got his inspiration from the flora and fauna found in the Philippines.
“If you notice with the prints the flower is actually the waling-waling and it is endemic to Mindanao. We used those for both floral prints and rendered in such a way that it would look like a wall painting. And the other one is very foresty. With the leaves, we worked around the anahaw leaves. We combined it with other leaves to give it a texture of the depth of the print to give life,” said Bumgarner.
2. Pieces can be worn anywhere!
Plains & Prints Vice President Roxanne Farillas said this collaboration that they have with Bumgarner is actually one of the biggest collaborations they have done. It being a 13-piece capsule collection, it both encompasses what both office and party women would need.
While designing the plains of his collection, Bumgarner said he kept in mind the day-to-evening look. He wanted that the clothing can be worn anywhere – be it in a social event, in the office, or a gathering come nighttime.
3. Available in Davao City
Yes, these minimalistic and yet very sophisticated pieces designed by Bumgarner are very much available for Dabawenyos. Now displayed at Chimes Boutique, Sales St., Davao City, anyone can come and grab a piece or two to go with their everyday lifestyle.
