Dental mission helps 219 students
COMPOSTELA VALLEY – A total of 219 students benefited the free dental mission program conducted by the Compostela Valley Provincial Police Office (CVPPO) through the Compostela Valley Provincial 1st Mobile Force Company (CVPMFC) as of July 2018.
The series of free dental mission was led by Police Superintendent, CVPMFC force commander John Lopez Clark.
The program started last June 2017 in partnership with the St. Peter Calungsod Realty Development Corporation in Angeles City as their main sponsor and stakeholder-partner.
The Dental Mission Program dubbed as “A Beautiful Smile Starts A Better Day” caters four students per day, conducted in two batches per week with a minimum of P1,400 allocated budget per student.
The student beneficiaries are from Nabunturan Central Elementary School (NCES) in coordination with its school principal Rosario A. Moñeza and in partnership with April Quil L. Secuya, DMD Dentist and owner of the Dental Clinic.
According to Clark, in a week there were eight students who benefited for the free dental services with corresponding amount paid by the sponsor and they also availed of discounts with their partner clinic.
He added that the program is part of the best practices and activities of the CVPMFC to showcase the government’s initiatives and flagship programs.
“Natutuwa tayo at nagiging instrument tayo sa programang ito to win the hearts and the minds of the people especially our children considering that they are our future leaders,” Clark said.
Meanwhile, aside from the dental mission they also offer a scholarship program dubbed as “Adopt a Student Program” with the campaign line “Edukasyon Handog Sa Batang May Pangarap” which intends to build and strengthen collaborative partnership between the police and the community as an important tool for the effective delivery of basic services to the community.
