The Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) will prepare children's desks to prevent cases of missing kids during the Kadayawan activities.

CSSDO chief Maria Luisa Bermudo, in an interview with Sun.Star Davao yesterday, said the initiative is part of the Davao City Social Services and Development Office - Quick Response Team for Children's Concern (CSSDO-QRTCC) that was established this year. The children's desk will be present at each Kadayawan event.

Children's desks will serve as quick response teams for children's concern, such as lost children during Kadayawan festival where two to three social workers will be on duty.

“We set up hotlines or desks kay sa mga activities, usually daghan man ta ug bisita. In case nay mga bata mawala, naa tay mga social workers naka standby from August 13 to 19 (We set up hotlines because during Kadayawan activities, we have a lot of visitors. In the case where a child is lost, we have social workers on stand-by from August 13 to 19),” Bermudo said.

“Naka-experience na ta na naa gyud mga bata mawala, so at least naa sila maduolan (We have experienced cases of missing children so at least parents know where to go)," Bermudo said, adding that they have been setting up a response team like this and that the police already knew where to refer cases of missing children during Kadayawan.
