PISD WIZARDS: VICTORS IN CHINA
Math wizards from Precious International School of Davao bagged medals during China Primary Mathematics Olympiad
Precious International School of Davao Grade School learners, Christopher John Torreña (Grade 4) and Hanne Margaret C. Tongcua (Grade 6) bagged distinct medallions in the different events during the 2018 China Primary Mathematics Olympiad (CPMO) held at Hangzhou, China last July 27- August 01, 2018.
Torreña bagged a Bronze Medallion and a certificate in the International Individual Category and a Gold Medallion, a certificate and a trophy in the Group Relay International Team Competition in the Grade 4 level, while Tongcua likewise bagged a Silver Medallion and a certificate in both International Individual Category and Group Relay International Team Competition in the Grade 6 level. “I did not expect to bring medals home this time because it was so hard but I am just very grateful that we’re still able to bring something good for the Philippines and for Precious,” said Tongcua.
The PISD Community acknowledged the achievements of the learners during the 1st Students’ Assembly last August 06, 2018 together with their parents who accompanied them to China.
Furthermore, Torreña and Tongcua will still compete together with three other Precious learners, Zuleika Lou Dalian (Grade 5), Marvin Dalian Jr. (Grade 2) and Josephine Joy Torreña (Grade 2) to represent the Philippines in the Hong Kong International Mathematics Olympiad this coming August 31 to September 3, 2018.
