PRO 11 chief checks police stations
Operational readiness of the Davao cops even during wee hours was tested after the newly-installed regional director of the Police Regional Office (PRO 11) conducted an inspection in different police stations and mobile checkpoints on Tuesday evening.
Speaking during the AFP-PNP media forum at The Royal Mandaya Hotel, Police Chief Superintendent Marcelo Morales said that he was satisfied with the result of his inspection that started around 11 p.m. after he saw that the personnel who were assigned in the night shift are on guard and nobody was sleeping at that time.
“So far, satisfied naman ako sa result ng aking inspection.
Nandoon sila. Nakita kong ginagampanan nila ang kanilang trabaho sa kanilang post,” Morales said.
The inspection was held two days after the culmination of Kadayawan Festival in Davao City to ensure the public that although it is already over, the security remains to be in full alert status.
“Yong assessment ko kagabi, 90 percent ng mga personnel na duty as night shift ay nandoon at nakita ko yong, walang natutulog sa station, nandoon din yong kanilang station commander at yong kanilang deployment ay kompleto parin,” he said.
Morales visited the Sta. Ana, San Pedro, Talomo, Toril, Tugbok and Sasa police stations. He also inspected the checkpoint in Sirawan, Toril where the joint AFP-PNP checkpoint is located to check the daily duty detail and ensure the functionality of the facilities and equipment.
He said he plans to conduct surprise inspections next time.
The inspection in different police stations is part of the internal cleansing of the Philippine National Police (PNP). /
