The Eco 4 netters survive Team Skyline to crown themselves champion of the 2018 Kadayawan Team Tennis Championship

The Eco 4 netters emerged champion by beating Skyline BMeg, 10-8, in the 2018 Kadayawan Team Tennis Championship held at Eco 4 Tennis Club.

In class C, Skyline BMeg’s pair Dr. Nilo Cabardo and Bong Mateo crushed the Eco 4 tandem of Bong Martin and Japon del Rosario, 8-2, but Eco 4 duo of Ramon Lofranco and Boy Pana countered to eke out an 8-5 win over Huddy de Hitta and Arnold Longakit to tie the match at 1-all.

A series of lead changes and deadlocks then ensued.

Skyline’s M. Eselloso and R. Fanlo spanked P. Mendez and B. Lademora, 8-3, yet Eco 4’s C. Gonzales and T. Montebon survived past Skyline’s Z. Malasa and J. Suerto, 9-7 via tiebreak.

A. Yu and Longakit of Skyline subdued Eco 4’s P. Sumaylo and J. Fidellaga, 8-4, but Eco 4’s K. Perry and R. Guerero whipped R. Mateo and Cabardo, 8-5. Skyline’s De Hitta and M. Estelloso edged B. Villano and N. Rey, 8-6, while Eco 4’s D. Dagohoy and N. Cocjin overwhelmed the pair of Yu and J. Laroya.

In class A, Eco 4’s Arnold Sarabia and G. Perez defeated R. Amazona and M. Abad, 8-3, while Jonathan Palac and Y. Araral bested Skyline’s Ed Angelo Diez and Paolo Cansino, 9-7, tiebreak for Eco 4 to snatch a 6-4 advantage.

Eco 4 tandem of F. Domingo and Derecho, routed H. Cariga ad J. Amurao, 8-1, for a 7-4 lead but Skyline grabbed two straight wins courtesy of N. Naromal-B. Dela Cruz and Diez-Abad to cut Eco 4’s lead to only one.

In class B, however, Eco 4’s J. Idpan-R. Perez, Abet Dizon-D. Caneda and Jack Sandique-Willie Neri never looked back to seal the match for the team.
