Parents vital in Panabo football club’s success
Parents are vital in inspiring athletes to be great just like sports icons Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps and Tiger Woods, among others.
The Panabo Parents United Football Club (PPUFC), convened by coach Fritz Evan Galladora with some parents in early 2017, has collected titles and figured in impressive finishes.
“Walang kaming mga sponsors sariling gastos ng mga parents,” Galladora said, citing that the club started with only eight players and the members doubled few months later.
Galladora also used to be a player. “Yung main objective ko sa mga kids is to be a champion not only in football but also in the community.”
The club since then won 13 championship titles in the under-seven category and four crowns in the under-six division, among others.
“We also have several runner-up finishes in under-eight and under-nine categories. These serve as a statement that we are existing,” the founding coach said.
Apart from the parents, Gallardo is being assisted by coaches Monark Arguelles and Magno Sumcio.
The club will try to test its mettle in Alaska Cup in Ayala Alabang on November 24 and 25.
