DURIAN NOW P30

As supply of durian in the market increases, prices have dropped to less than P50 for most types of durian.

With the peak of durian harvest in Davao City, durian prices is at P30/kg in Bankerohan market as the month of August ends.

“Karun jud ang peak sa pagdaghan sa supply sa durian diraa sa city (Now is really the peak of the abundant supply of durian here in the city),” durian vendor Aldrin Pradi said on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Bankerohan Public Market, Davao City.

Pradi added compared with the prices they had last month, having P30 per kilograms (kg) for the durian is the lowest price Dabawenyos can now avail for the durian.

“Pero kani nga presyo maglahi gihapon kung unsa ang iyang variety, sa karun ang pinakabara­to kay ang native nga type sa durian (But this price would still differ based on the variety of durian, for now the cheapest is the native type of durian),” Pradi said.

Puyat is at P50/kg, Nanam at P50/kg, Cob at P50/ kg, Duyaya at P50, D24 at P50/kg, GD69 at P50, TM at P50, Arancillo at P40/ kg, Kimbangan at P40/kg, Monthong (Obosa) at P40/kg, Thailand monthong at P40/kg, Karadumtho­ng (alcon fancy) at P40/kg, D101 is at P40/ kg, while Malaysian native is now at P30/kg, half from its price two weeks ago which amounted at P60/kg.

“Kasagaran jud sa mga presyo nibaba ug almost P30/ kg (Most of the prices went down by almost P30/kg),” Pradi added.

Pradi also said for now, the supply of the durian fruits are still abundant especially that durian plantation­s in Tugbok and Calinan district are still supplying most of the markets here in the city.

“Ang uban man gani diraa sa sulod sa palengke hurot na ang durian wa pa niabot ang hapon (Durian supply in other stalls inside the market already gets sold out before it reaches afternoon),” Pradi added.
