Supporting young entrepreneurs

-

The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) is set to hold a summit for young entrepreneurs soon. Though no exact date has been set but organizers say it might be held sometime in September. However, with Mindanao Business Conference and the Davao Agri-Trade Expo happening on the same month, there is a probability that it will happen on another month.

Whether it will push through this month or in the following months, this is something that young entrepreneurs should look forward to. At present, they are ironing out the details for the event.

It can be observed that there is a growing number of young adults who are seeking to make their own fortune by putting up their own businesses. Whether it is through baked goods or reselling of clothes, many young adults are finding ways to build their business and fortune.

As DCCCII president Arturo Milan puts it, students in college are usually conditioned to be good employees rather than become good employers.

It is exciting to note that the business chamber in the city has taken notice of the young entrepreneurs that are budding in the city.

Hopefully, they will serve as effective and wise mentors to these young entrepreneurs and pass on knowledge on how to be an effective entrepreneur and employer in the city or region.

As for the topics that may be discussed, it would be great if the organizers would include topics on starting a business and its requirements. Industry updates are also great topics as these will give the young entrepreneurs a glimpse of what they are getting in to.

The event will also be an opportunity for the various government agencies like the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology, and Department of Agrciulture, among others, to present their programs for new small and medium enterprises.

With so many young entrepreneurs nowadays, this summit is timely as it could give them the knowledge to be competitive in the market.
