To provide homes for the marginalized and poor families in Davao City, Habitat for Humanity Philippines revealed the P50 million-partnership with real estate firm Euro Towers during their 30th anniversary celebration last September 27, 2018.

The P50-million grant from the property developer will be used for the Habitat programs in building homes for families in the next five years as part of Euro Towers' socialized housing compliance.

“We served families without discrimination, families that are in need, and we have partners that are willing to be part of the process and part of building the homes of these families,” Habitat for Humanity Philippines managing director Mike Meaney during an interview with SunStar Davao.

“We have served 5,400 families in Mindanao with our normal housing program. But in 2011 and 2012, we served 20,000 families though our disaster response program. They received repair kits for their homes following the damage caused by Typhoon Sendong,” Meaney added.

Meanwhile, Habitat Philippines recognized Euro Towers, DMI Medical Supply Inc., and other donors and key partners during the event.

“Dako among pasalamat sa Habitat kay nakita namo among ubang kauban sa tribu sa Matigsalog (We are thankful to the Habitat [hilippines] for giving us the chance to be with our other tribe members in Matigsalog),” beneficiary Allan Torres, 46, said during an interview with SunStar Davao.

“Permiro namong balay sauna, cogon ang atop. Karon, dako among pasalamat kay gihatagan mi ug balay kay dili name matuluan ug ulan (At first, our house ceiling is made of cogon but now, we are thankful that they gave us decent home that will not leak whenever it rains),” he added. /
