To promote efficiency and hassle-free queuing for a doctor’s appointment, a mobile application is now available to set a medical consultation.

Davao-based nurses Aljabier Sankigay and Vic Cabatbat saw the need to help patients from far flung areas to set and confirm appointments with their doctors. To address this problem, HiDOK was born, a first in Mindanao.

“What we are aiming for is to eradicate the predicament of our patients especially for some who will be traveling to Davao only to find out there doctors aren’t still available for any appointment,” Cabatbat said on Friday, September 28, 2018 during the launching of the HiDOK app at Apo View Hotel.

Cabatbat, who also runs a heavy equipment rental business, said waiting in long lines for a doctor’s appointment can be a waste of time and even economic resources.

“The app will at least let us know when to set an appointment, allowing us to do other things before or after to maximize our time in the city,” Cabatbat said.

“It’s a single application, all you need to do is to sign-up as a doctor or as a patient,” Sankigay added.

He also said both patient and doctor must have the HiDOK app in order to synchronize communication in confirming appointments.

Sankigay, originally from Maguindanao where he now owns his own small hospital, knows the difficulty of waiting for medical appointments, forcing patients to spend more time, or stay in hotels just to wait for the doctor’s availability.

“All you need to do is look for HiDOK in your App Store or in Google Play, once downloaded instructions will be set for users to follow,” Sankigay added.

HiDok already manages a service which keeps online medical records of patients and doctors on a subscription basis.

“What we are aiming for is to eradicate the predicament of our patients especially for some who will be traveling to Davao only to find out there doctors aren’t still available for any appointment.”
