The DNF Film Tour kicked off on September 20 with the participation of the film festival director Bagane Fiola, as a resource person on filmmaking basics in the interschool and division-wide Special Program for the Arts Film Camp at the Davao Cinematheque. The participants were students in the SPA-Media Arts of the following schools: F. Bangoy National High School, Cabantian National High School, and the Davao City National High School. On September 27, the DNF team gave talks on filmmaking and screened short films to Grade 11 and 12 students of the Ateneo de Davao University. DNF 2018 Film Camp director Angely Chi gave a short talk on visual storytelling as a key element in films. This was followed by a talk on the basics of filmmaking, as well as the elements of a “ngilngig” film by DNF 2018 Film Festival director Bagane Fiola. After the talks, Fiola screened two early ngilngig shorts “Garbage” and “The Cam- era” as well as behind-the-scene videos of the 2016 Qcinema Netpac Jury Prize winner Wailings in the Forest - Baboy Halas, which Fiola directed, co-wrote, and co-produced. The activities were held in coordination with the Ateneo Filmmakers Society, moderated by Aga M. Gabato III, who also participated in the recently held Davao Ngilngig Film Camp 2018.
