“Welcome Home” LA GERMANIA TREATS DAVAO CHEFS AND COOKS

Premier cooking range brand La Germania brought its first ever roadshow to Davao City by opening its one-of-a-kind cooking and homemaking expo called “Welcome Home” at the Activity Center of Abreeza Mall last September 8-9, 2018.

As a wonderful treat to home cooks and chefs in Davao, the Welcome Home mobile exhibit featured a wide range of La Germania products, allowing them to get a glimpse and feel of what an efficient kitchen range can do for a household.

Kicking off the mobile exhibit were brand representa­tives and advocates who started the affair with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the Pop-up Gallery. Present were Karl Castillo, Marketing Manager of General Heat Corporatio­n; Felimon Te, General Manager of TW & Company; Ricardo Ong, Regional Sales Manager of TW & Company; and Larry Lu, Branch Manager-Davao of TW & Company. A tour of the La Germania gallery showcased different products on display, as each design, functional­ity and good quality was described in detail. Guests were then invited to various workshops and demos.

Knowing the Filipinos penchant for home cooking, La Germania hosted a cooking demo led by celebrity chef Jeremy Favia of TV5’s Chef vs. Mom fame. The workshop themed “The art of cooking beautifull­y” taught Welcome Home participan­ts how to spice up traditiona­l Filipino meals La Germania style. Chef Jeremy introduced sumptuous Filipino dishes with a twist with recipes called “Three Cheese Macaroni” and “Chicken Caldereta Hash”.

Moms and kids aged six to 12 enjoyed a cupcake baking and decorating workshop headed by chef consultant and food stylist Karina Rodriguez, known for exclusive cooking and baking classes for kids and adults. Participan­ts learned how to properly use an oven, and kids were taught how to decorate cupcakes. Our children also took home their baked masterpiec­es as souvenirs.

Apart from cooking and baking demos, two other workshops included a Bento making workshop facilitate­d by Russet Cainglet and a Paper Flower Making class headed by April San Pedro. Bento making is the art of packing a lunch box filled with food shaped into colorful images and cartoon characters to make them attractive to little kids. La Germania workshop participan­ts tackled the various techniques to make these fun-packed meals tempting for picky eaters. After making edible art, La Germania guests also learned how to make beautiful paper blooms that could be used to decorate their homes or apply in various craft projects.
