RECOVER FROM THE #DAILYGRIND Tips for Better Sleep

- BY ANDREA ISABELLE MEJOS mejosandrea@gmail.com

In our busy day-to-day life, we sometimes forget to give our body what it really needs. We often forget that after the “daily grind,” our body deserves to rest and recover. Other times we remember, but don’t know what our body needs and where to buy it.

I learned that the mind and body respond to our senses. To get improved sleep, we have to take into consideration our sense of smell, sense of sight, and sense of touch and how to “please” them. This is where relaxation and calmness begin.

REED DIFFUSER OIL – Aromatic scents can lull the brain into relaxation. Unlike artificial scents, the reed diffuser oil exudes a nice, aromatic scent that’s not too strong, but smells just enough to help you feel more relaxed. You can get this from beautymnl.com. Alternatively, you can try using Young Living essential oils and diffuser which you can buy from online sellers like IG user @oilright_dvo.

RELIEF HOT COMPRESS

THERMAL PILLOW – Our mind and body respond to touch. And whether you work with a computer in an office or outdoors, our muscles can ache and get sore. While massages or “hilot” is always an option, it’s not always readily available. Other times it is too expensive. This thermal pillow from SM is easy and convenient to use with only 10 minutes charging time for the pillow to heat up, and the heat can last to 4-6 hours. Put this on the area where your muscles feel sore or even just sleep with it close. This technique works not only because it provides relief, but also because our mind and body respond to warmth and seek for it instinctively. This is available at SM Department stores.

Remember that our mind and body deserve rest and relaxation. Everything has to be in harmony in order for you to deliver prime performance in work or school. Stay on top not only by pushing yourself to your limits, but also by taking a break and taking care of yourself. It’s the only way for our body to deliver what the mind wants.
