BLCT grabs solo lead in Arcadia Cup 2018 team standings
BLCT grabbed a solo lead in the Arcadia Cup 2018 after beating Remach Kitchen Equipment, 63-59, at the Arcadia Active Lifestyle Center Thursday evening.
BLCT first defeated Mandarin SPC 24/7, 68-60, last Tuesday.
Mandarin SPC 24/7, however, recorded a 2-1 win-loss card to take the second spot of the team standings.
In its two other games, however, Mandarin SPC 24/7 pulled off wins over Red Corner Burger Cafe, 69-60, and Remach Kitchen Equipment, 83-59.
Ateneo High School Varsity, Mark Anthony Construction and Supply (Macs), Fortich Architectural Designs and Revala Ice Cream each toted a 1-0 mark to share the third to fifth spots. Skin 911 (0-1), Remach (0-2) and Red Corner Burger Cafe (0-2) trailed behind.
Arcadia Cup commissioner Andrew Phillip Nidea, during Thursday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao, said the basketball tournament has attracted nine teams composed of alumni of Ateneo de Davao University.
"It's a single round robin format tournament where the top four teams will advance to the final four with No. 1 playing against No. 4 and No. 2 against No. 3," Nidea said, adding that proceeds from the donation fees of P18,000 per team will benefit one of the Ateneo High School varsity scholars.
Games are being held every 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays./
