Celebrating culture, arts, and culinary highlights Marco Polo Davao’s Fashion and Fusion
Marco Polo Davao’s Fashion and Fusion was one of the finalists of Most Outstanding Virtus Marketing Campaign of the Year.
Fashion and Fusion, the only entry from Mindanao who made it to Virtus Award, is an annual marketing event of Marco Polo Davao which celebrates culture, arts, and culinary highlights that embraces local talents and flavors through a fashion show and a month-long display of the works of Davao artist and locally-produced products at the hotel lobby.
“Marco Polo Davao aims to position the hotel as the connoisseurs of Mindanao culture. Fashion and Fusion which is the baby project of our General Manager Dottie Wurgler-Cronin which started last 2015, uses fashion and food as tourism niche to attract people and experience Davao,” Marco Polo Davao Director of Sales and Marketing Pearl Peralta Maclang said.
Fashion and Fusion is also a celebration of cultural fashion with a cause for Philippine Eagle. As part of the sustaining efforts, Philippine Eagle stuffed toys are dressed in Mind- anaoan costume are auctioned. The campaign is not just to raise donations funds for the foundation but to likewise intensify campaign on awareness on the preservation of the national bird.
Department of Tourism Undersecretary Bong Benzon also attended the awarding ceremony on behalf of DOT Director Berna Puyat.
The Virtus Awards was created by the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association (HSMA) to elevate exemplary performance of individuals and best practices that impact hotels and resorts business and services and thus promote the company’s good image and optimize revenue generation. The awarding was held last on October 8, 2018 at the Marriott Manila, Pasay City were five campaigns competed for the award. /
