FORMER PDEA AGENT NABBED

Former agent was from Iloilo and was allegedly hiding here in Davao City

Authoritie­s on Saturday, October 20, arrested a former scout ranger and Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency (Pdea) agent for his alleged involvemen­t in illegal drugs.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director Police Senior Superinten­dent Alexander Tagum said that the suspect is identified as Levi B. Bawe, 39 years old, married, Ex-Army (Scout Ranger 97), Ilo-ilo Pdea Agent was nabbed on Friday evening at his rented apartment at San Pablo St., Fatima Village, Matina Aplaya, Davao City. He was allegedly hiding in Davao City.

He is tagged as the top three most wanted person by the Police Regional Office (PRO). He was arrested during the implementa­tion of warrant of arrest in line with the Oplan Dabaw Kalinaw by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Guilale Lim of Regional Trial Court (RTC) 6 Ilo-ilo with CC No. 1678371 for the crime of murder after he killed his own brother.

His wife, Sharon S. Bawe, 38 years old, a bank employee was likewise arrested for her standing warrant of arrest by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Judge Renato B. Gleyo of RTC 12 Branch 19, General Santos City for estafa.

“Suspects were arrested at their residence and now under the custody of the operating unit for proper dispositio­n prior to their commitment to the court,” Tagum said.

“Neverthele­ss, we would like to emphasize that our campaign against illegal drugs will not choose who should be arrested, whoever they are we will hit them on the ground and they should all held responsibl­e for their actions and face the penalties of the law,” he said.

In an interview with Levi, he denied having involvemen­t in illegal drugs and said that he was only here in Davao City because they are having a vacation with his wife. He argued that he was only arrested for the case of murder.
