The suspect’s attention has been called already for his alleged involvement in illegal drugs earlier

An active volunteer police auxiliary was nabbed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea 11) agents yesterday afternoon during a buy-bust operation at YCF Village, Barangay San Antonio, Agdao, Davao City.

PDEA Assistant Regional Director lawyer Behn Joseph Tesiorna identified the suspect as Danny Boy Patulot, considered to be PDEA’s high value target, 46, married and a member of the police auxiliary under the Sta. Ana Police Station of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO).

Authorities recovered two sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as “shabu” weighing more or less one gram and having a street value of P14,000, after he sold it to an undercover operative.

Assorted drug paraphernalia, buy-bust marked money and boodle money were likewise seized from his possession.

Tesiorna said Patulot’s attention has been called already for his alleged involvement in illegal drugs trade but refused to be checked. Early this year, during a drug test, he turned out negative which made him complacent that he will not be subjected to any drug bust.

He added that this has been the usual move of the drug personalities; lie low from their illegal activities and join the government service but continue their drug business afterwards, thinking that this will make them “untouchables”. But this will only make them a high value target instead.

Patulot has been under surveillance after the PDEA received information from concerned citizen of his illegal activities.

The suspect is now detained at PDEA 11 detention facility in Camp Captain Domingo E. Leonor, San Pedro Street, Davao City while the illegal drugs were submitted to Laboratory Service of PDEA 11 for examination.

He will now be facing cases for violation of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Should he be found guilty, the maximum penalty of the unlawful act shall be imposed, in addition to absolute perpetual disqualification from any public office as stated in Article II, Section 28 Criminal Liability of Government Officials and Employees of Republic Act 9165.
