Davao City Police Office (DCPO) issued a stern warning against personnel who are engaged in illegal activities that it will not tolerate such actions and that it will further strengthen its background investigation on its personnel.

DCPO acting spokesperson Police Senior Inspector Catherine Dela Rey said in an interview yesterday that DCPO director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum has reminded the cops and the volunteer police under them to stop their illegal activities; otherwise they will be celebrating their Christmas inside the prison.

“Kung naa moy buhaton na dili maayo or supak sa balaod, dili lang kay sa illegal drugs activities, bisan unsang illegal activities kung wala nasubay sa balaod, dili nato i-tolerate. Dakpon jud mo (If you will engage in illegal activities not only illegal drugs, we will not tolerate it. We will arrest you),” Dela Rey said.

This developed after a volunteer police auxiliary of Sta. Ana Police Station was nabbed on Wednesday during an entrapment operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11. The suspect was identified as Danny Boy Patulot, 46, married and a resident of YCF Village, Barangay San Antonio, Agdao, Davao City. He is considered to be PDEA’s high value target.

“Niagi man na sa proseso ang police auxiliary. Niagi na siya og BI pag apply nila, nag-drug test na sila pero naa gyud gihapon nakalusot (They underwent the process such as background investigation and drug test but still, there are still those who pass through),” she said.

Dela Rey said background checking and internal cleansing have been continuously implemented by their organization to weed out scalawags which is necessary as they are the one enforcing the laws.
