Security up as PRRD visits parents’ grave

- JCR

Authorities will implement maximum security in Roman Catholic Cemetery should President Rodrigo Duterte visit the grave of his parents during Undas.

“Sa karong muabotay nga All Souls and All Saints Day, nakahan-ay naman gyud na atong security forces sa nagkadaiyang cemetery sa tibuok Davao City. Sa diha sa sementeryo nga adtoan sa atoang Presidente, mas higpit ang atong ihatag na security (We have ironed out the security preparation for All Souls and All Saints Day in all cemeteries in the city. In the cemetery where the President would visit, we will implement stringent security measures),” Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Police Senior Inspector Catherine dela Rey said.

She added that there is already a security package prepared by DCPO in the area because normally the President pays respects to his parents’ tomb every year. In anticipation for his visit, they already included in their security plan to ensure the safety and security of the President.

However, they do not have information yet if he will visit during Undas this year as well as the schedule. What she assured was, they are well prepared to provide security coverage.

“Mas i-beef up siya kay expected man gud nga pag muadto ang atoang Presidente, daghan pod crowd nga muadto ug gusto muduol sa iyaha,” dela Rey said.

DCPO is in coordination with the Presidential Security Group (PSG) who will provide the security in the inner perimeter should there is a need for additional forces. /
