The Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (Dcott) recorded to reach 1,500 north and south bus trips during the Undas Season.

Dcott head Aisa Usop said on a phone interview yesterday that there was a visible increase of passengers which they estimated to reach more than 75,000 from October 31 to November 1 compared to regular days.

“Sa karon, November 3, medyo nihinay na ang mga tao. Medyo ni-back to normal na ta, mingaw na ta sa Dcott (For now, November 3, the number of passengers have gotten back to normal in Dcott),” Usop said.

Last month, Usop said they were expecting 1,200 bus trips but that there will be reserved buses should there be more passengers.

She said that in regular days, they have only 750 to 800 north and south bound bus trips.

The new folding beds were not even used by passengers since buses have not followed intervals given the number of passengers already waiting in the terminal.

Dcott, however, placed it in the corners of the terminal to be used as sitting areas for senior citizens, pregnant women, and parents with toddlers.

Usop also said that this year’s Undas was peaceful and manageable, and passengers now have discipline in terms of proper waste disposal.

“Pasalamat ko kay murag naa na pud disiplina ang mga pasahero, wala na sila nagapataka og labay sa ilang mga basura though naay mga ginagmay like candy wrappers (I am thankful to see the passengers are more disciplined. They actually do not just throw their garbage anywhere though there are still some candy wrappers),” she said./
