More economic trade activities and investments are expected with the launch of Cebu Pacific’s (CEB) daily flights between Davao City and Clark last Friday, November 9, 2018, an airline executive said.

“Linking two economic hubs in the Philippines will greatly enhance trade, tourism and investments,” CEB vice president for safety and quality Jomar Rodriguez said in a statement.

This new launch of daily flights is only part of Cebu Pacific’s expansion plan. Aside from Clark, CEB also has direct flights from Davao to Tagbilaran, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Manila, Tacloban, Zamboanga, and even Singapore.

CEB Corporate Communication Director Maria Rosario L. Lagamon said linking the airline’s Davao and Clark hubs will also greatly contribute on locating future economic trade given with Davao and Clark’s rapid economic growth.

“There are locators in Clark that source their materials from Davao and vice versa, so therefore it would be so much easier to cargo materials with these additional flights,” Lagamon said during the launching of the flight.

Davao City mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio said in her speech read by Davao City councilor April Marie Dayap that the flight will help open opportunities in new industries for tourism.

“The increased connectivity means an increased potential in enterprise productivity in the country,” Duterte-Carpio said.

Meanwhile, Lagamon added CEB will continue to invest in their Davao hub. She also said the Davao hub is the largest in Mindanao being served by CEB’s full array of fleets. The fleet is comprised of 36 Airbus A320, five Airbus A321 Current Engine Option (CEO), and eight Airbus A330 aircraft. The Cebgo fleet is composed of eight ATR 72-500 and ten ATR 72-600 aircrafts.

There are 148 CEB flights per week to and from Francisco Bangoy International Airport which constitutes eight percent of the total number of flights mounted in a weekly basis.

“There are locators in Clark that source their materials from Davao and vice versa, so therefore it would be so much easier to cargo materials with these additional flights.”
