- PR

The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), in its quest to become a premier Research University in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean), seeks to subject its academic programs to constant evaluation.

This year, Usep welcomed another team from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (Aaccup) for the Accreditation Survey Visit on November 7-9, 2018.

Among the programs accredited include Master of Industrial Technology, Master of Technology Education, Master of Information Technology, PhD in Horticulture, Bachelor of Science in Forestry, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Majors in Plant Pathology and Enterprise Management), and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business.

Dr. Marcelina O. Bahalla, Overall Coordinator of the AACCUP Team, shared that in 2002, she was among the pioneering accreditors who visited USeP for its first ever Accreditation Survey Visit. This experience enabled her to monitor the development of USeP’s programs.

“I witnessed how USeP embraced the culture of accreditation, including research and extension. There is no problem when it comes to [conducting] accreditation [visits] in USeP,” she added.

In 2016, AACCUP hailed USeP as Top 6 among State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) with the most number of accredited programs. With the collective efforts of the faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students, USeP seeks to have more of its programs accredited in the future. This is in line with the University’s Institutional Goal to have 90% pf its programs accredited by 2021. /
